Town Centre Vacancy Workshops

Overview

Cost: Free

Across our towns, vacant and underused buildings present real challenges - but they also offer significant opportunities to support local businesses, town centre living, heritage and more vibrant, sustainable places.

To ensure that future investment is well-targeted and delivers meaningful impact, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, in partnership with Turley, carried out a study on vacant properties and invited local stakeholders to help shape future priorities and opportunities.

The Council is now hosting a series of local workshops, providing an opportunity to explore the issues and opportunities identified through the survey in more detail.

The workshops will bring together a range of local stakeholders, including community group representatives, local business owners, sports clubs, local organisations and others with an interest in the future of our towns.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to:

  • Explore the challenges and opportunities facing our town centres
  • Discuss the future use of vacant and underused buildings
  • Share local knowledge, ideas and experiences
  • Consider opportunities to make our town centres more vibrant, attractive and sustainable
  • Help identify potential priorities for future investment and regeneration
