Stonemasonry 3-Day Course

This 3-Day course led by The Rock Stone Masonry, based in the grounds of Glenarm Castle, will provide a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to working with stone. Each day will focus on a different craft: Dry Stone Walling, Letter Cutting, and Lime Pointing, however each session will have transferrable skills to other aspects of stonemasonry, such as identifying appropriate materials and dressing stone, and will build hand and head skills. This course will take place on a historic site, and you will be able to get first-hand experience and knowledge of working on a real structure, as well as in the on-site workshop. All materials and lunch, tea and coffee will be provided. No experience necessary!

This course is for anyone who has an interest stonemasonry. The session would be useful to a variety of attendees, from construction professionals wishing to upskill and develop stonemasonry skills, to building owners and enthusiasts who would like to apply skills to their own building projects, or to those thinking of becoming stonemasons. No construction experience is required, and the course will be led by experienced stonemasons, with extensive experience of working with historic buildings and structures.

No variation to these conditions shall be binding unless agreed in writing between the authorised representatives of the training provider and the delegate and/or their sponsoring organisation. The delegate and their sponsoring organisation acknowledge that these terms and conditions supersede any written or verbal communication.
