This course is designed to ensure that your written communications are accurate and that they communicate the intended message.  Sharing our expertise through practical delivery, we will build your knowledge and skill to enable you to become a confident and effective proofreader.

What Will I learn?

Common issues in spelling, grammar and punctuation will be explored and you'll discover the importance of rules governing covering topics such as capitalisation and hyphenation.  In the afternoon we’ll build on this knowledge through application of a number of proofreading techniques that will enable you to make immediate improvements to the quality of your documents or copy. 

By the end of the training you will be able to:

  • Recognise the importance and benefits of effective proofreading
  • Distinguish proofreading skills from editing skills
  • Increase accuracy in spelling, punctuation, grammar and consistency
  • Build confidence in the rules governing English
  • Use a range of strategies and techniques to find different types of errors
  • Implement a robust proofreading process for your team, department or organisation 

Is It For Me?

Do you write or proofread emails, letters, reports, minutes, press releases or marketing copy for your organisation?  If the answer is yes then this course is for you.

The course content is relevant to all levels of staff including up to and including senior managers.  It is popular with people from various departments such as finance, human resources, marketing, administration as well as technical staff.

Terms

All cancellations must be emailed to contact@akutraining.com  Fees payable for cancellations are as follows:

More than 14 days before the date of the course - No fees payable
3 – 14 days before the date of the course - £50 administration fee
Less than 3 days before the date of the course - 50% of total fees payable            

We will accept a substitute delegate at any stage at no charge.

Should AKU Training need to cancel or postpone an event for any reason, as much notice as possible will be given and an alternative date may be offered.  If the alternative date is unacceptable to you any delegate fees will be fully refunded.  AKU Training is not liable for any subsequent loss.

Whilst the programme is correct at the time of going to press, AKU Training reserves the right to change the details of the training course at any time. Alterations may be beyond our control.
