Thinking about starting a business, but not sure where to begin, or even whether entrepreneurship is right for you?

Join us for this free, interactive two-hour masterclass to help you explore what self-employment could look like for you.

This is not a lecture about writing business plans or registering a company. It is a practical, hands-on session that will help you think differently about business ideas, identify opportunities, and decide whether starting a business fits your skills, ambitions, and lifestyle.

During the session, we will look at how good business ideas are created, why solving a genuine customer problem matters more than finding the “perfect” idea, and how you can test an idea before investing too much time or money.

You will also have the opportunity to explore your own strengths, experience, and interests, and use them to generate potential business ideas.

By the end of the session, you will have:

• a better understanding of whether entrepreneurship is right for you at this stage
• one or two potential business ideas worth exploring further
• a simple framework for testing whether people might actually buy your product or service
• a clearer understanding of the realities of running your own business
• practical next steps to help you move your idea forward

This session is ideal if you:

• have been thinking about starting a business but do not know where to start
• have the beginnings of an idea but are not sure whether it could work
• would like to become self-employed but have not yet found the right business idea
• want to explore entrepreneurship before making any major commitments
• are simply curious about whether running your own business could be right for you

You do not need to arrive with a business idea. Part of the session is about helping you generate one.

This Go Succeed workshop is open to all individuals in the early stages of their business, located in the Belfast City Council area and neighbouring Council areas.

Please note as this is an in-person event, the registration numbers for this are restricted. Whilst Go Succeed operates across NI, this event is being hosted by Belfast City Council therefore should the event reach capacity and a waiting list is created, priority access will be given to businesses based in that area.
