Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Masterclass

Overview

Cost: Free

Newry, Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership, in collaboration with the Equality Commission Northern Ireland, are delighted to be hosting an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Masterclass for employers to explore inclusive hiring practices either for the first time, or to strengthen their business approach to disability inclusion.

Objectives:

  • To raise awareness of the benefits and importance of disability inclusion in the workplace.
  • To provide employers with insights, practical advice, and meaningful discussion on employing people with disabilities or long-term health conditions.
  • To discuss key challenges, myths, and legal considerations around disability employment.
  • To showcase lived experiences from both employers and employees to inspire inclusive practices.

Audience:

  • Local employers
  • HR professionals
  • Managers and team leaders
  • Anyone with a responsibility/interest in workplace diversity/inclusion

Essentially the masterclass is for anyone wishing to address gaps in the workforce with equality, diversity and inclusivity related goals or seek assistance with their strategy and objectives in this subject matter to attract and retain talent.

Employers will be able to enhance their skills, knowledge and behaviours to ensure they have a fully inclusive workplace, an awareness of the potential barriers to disabled candidates and employees, and can make reasonable adjustments to support employees and equip them to overcome barriers in the workplace.

A light breakfast is available from 8am.
