Employing Your First Employee - Legal Considerations - 24 July 2024

Cost: Free

This event is part of Go Succeed, a new support service from local councils in Northern Ireland that can help to start, grow or scale a business.

There are many things to consider before taking the big step of employing your first member of staff. When the time comes, you will want to ensure that you give yourself the best chance of finding the best candidate for the role. You will also want to make sure that you are legally compliant and don’t fall foul of employment law.

After this workshop you will be better equipped with the information you need as you embark on the journey of employing your first employee.

This event will cover:

  • Legal considerations around advertising a role
  • Recruitment and selection procedures
  • Making an offer of employment
  • Contract of employment
  • HR policies
  • Induction
  • Probationary period

This Go Succeed workshop is open to all individuals in the early stages of their business, throughout Northern Ireland, and is facilitated by Enterprise Northern Ireland.
