Certificate in Effective Line Management Practice

Overview

Cost: Free

The Labour Relations Agency is delighted to offer the Spring 2025 in-person Certificate in Effective Line Management Practice.

Effective line managers positively contribute to productive organisations leading on operations and deliverables while also managing people – impacting on areas including communication, performance, absence and staff turnover.

In recognising the fundamental role of the modern line manager, the Labour Relations Agency ‘Certificate in Effective Line Management Practice’ will equip managers with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in their role that helps foster an inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued and can thrive.

Please note that you may be able to obtain (Continuing Professional Development) CPD credit from your professional body (Law Society/CIPD) for attendance at our programme. Please retain all records as it will be up to the attendee to provide as much information as possible to the professional body who will consider it on a case-by-case basis.

Who is this for?

The programme is for new line managers. Suitable for employees new to a management role, and experienced technical/specialist employees who are managing people for the first time.

What will it cover?

The programme will provide you with an excellent foundation in the skills required for:

The programme will be delivered face to face at our Head Office - James House, 2-4 Cromac Avenue, Belfast, BT7 2JA. Places on the programme are deliberately limited, providing opportunities to network, get to know each other and share experiences over the eight sessions.

What is my time commitment?

Four days.  The programme is intensive and practical.  We will deliver two sessions per day, one day per week, over four weeks.  Each session lasts a maximum of 2.5 hours.   You will need the support of your own line manager to guarantee your attendance and protect the time.
