Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission

The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission is an independent public body which champions the human rights of those who live in Northern Ireland. As an “A Status” United Nations-accredited human rights institution, the Commission is Northern Ireland’s human rights guardian and centre of excellence.

As part of our education and awareness raising work we are supporting a new forum on developing a Business and Human Rights initiative.

Led by businesses for businesses, the forum will provide an open space for discussion about opportunities and challenges in this area. Companies of all sizes and across all sectors are welcome to join.

  • Have your say in the development of UK-wide policy, such as the National Action Plan on business and human rights
  • Have the chance to influence local policy through collaboration with NI Civil Service Departments
  • Contribute to the development of guidance and practical tools for businesses wishing to embed human rights, including opportunities to showcase good practice
