Department for Science, Innovation & Technology

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is a ministerial department, supported by 15 agencies and public bodies. Its main role is to drive innovation that will deliver improved public services, create new better-paid jobs and grow the economy. Other responsibilities include positioning the UK at the forefront of global scientific and technological advancement, delivering talent programmes, physical and digital infrastructure and regulation to support our economy, security and public services, and providing R&D funding.
